Welcome!

I am so excited to be able to share Rooted Blossoms’ offering and invitation of reflection with you - Rooted Joy 2020!

Over the course of this year, I have joined you and so many as we have had to peel back the layers and be reminded of what is most important. In moving in and through these times, I have been practicing to be more present and more aware of simple moments that bring me joy. These moments have been so important in keeping and sustaining me. I consider these moments as flowers of life.

What I realized and know with certainty, even in the midst of sacrifice and uncertainty, there are many life moments worthy of capturing that remind us what we can be grateful for, what brings a smile (sometimes tears) to our faces. There are so many moments that bring laughter and song to our spirits, joy to our hearts and souls. There are so many moments that simply remind us of what is good.

I invite and encourage you be mindful of your senses. Taking the time to bring attention to your senses can help ground you. Notice sensations of taste, smell, touch, sound, intuition or sight whether it be external or internal. Take in how you are reminded of your joy. As you are led, I encourage you to capture these moments through photos, writing or drawing that help bring creative presence to our days. There are no emails and no pressure to keep up. You choose to get involved as much or as little as you wish. Do this every day or just when you feel inspired. Perhaps get your loved ones involved! Share your creative expressions in the Facebook group, on Instagram with our hashtag #RootedJoy2020 or just keep them for yourself. There are no rules.

Use this time of reflection as a way to give yourself  time to notice and take in your surroundings, take a breath, and more importantly be present. Keep it simple. This is not another task to be added to your daily checklist. There is no destination, result or something to achieve. This is an invitation to just enjoy simply being present through expressing with your camera, pen or colors.

Optional sharing!

There are two ways we can gather as a community:

1. Join the Facebook group to share your photos and insights

2. Share your photos on Instagram using the #RootedJoy2020 hashtag

Happy Joy, kindred!
